比推消息，被特朗普提名担任下一届美联储主席的凯文·沃什曾在 2025 年 11 月 16 日于《华尔街日报》发表题为《美联储的领导力崩溃》文章。文章指出，尽管美国正凭借人工智能创新和特朗普政府的亲增长政策迎来经济飞跃的绝佳机遇，但美联储僵化的领导层正在成为阻碍美国人获得更高收入和购买力的主要障碍。
凯文·沃什认为，美国正处于经济加速增长的有利位置：AI 驱动的生产力革命将成为显著的通缩力量。而特朗普政府的去监管议程是自里根总统以来最重要的，加上新税收法案的刺激，今年美国私人资本投资已超过 5.4 万亿美元。
另一方面，沃什指责美联储领导层行动迟缓，陷入了米尔顿·弗里德曼所说的现状的暴政（the tyranny of the status quo）。其指出：
· 美联储应放弃对未来几年滞胀（增长不佳且通胀高于目标 40%）的悲观预测。
· 美联储臃肿的资产负债表（为支持过去危机时期的大企业而设计）本应大幅缩减，并将资金以较低利率重新部署给家庭和小中型企业。
· 美联储需为 2022-2023 年初的银行存款挤兑事件负责。其监管规则系统性地使中小银行处于不利地位，减缓了信贷流向实体经济。
· 在耶伦和鲍威尔领导下，美联储花费十多年时间试图将美国银行束缚在瑞士巴塞尔的复杂全球监管规则中。沃什认为，巴塞尔的终极目标并非美国的终极目标，美国应建立独立的监管体系，使本国成为全球银行最佳的经营场所。
由此，沃什提出美联储应做出四项改变：
1、调整预测：放弃滞胀预测，认识到 AI 将推动实际工资增长和生活水平提升。
2、纠正通胀认知：承认通胀源于财政和货币超发，而非经济增长。
3、缩减资产负债表并重新部署资金：缩表并将资源导向家庭与中小企业。
4、改革监管框架：支持放松对小银行的过度监管，刺激国内信贷增长。
