近日，全球权威加密碳评级研究所（CCRI）发布《波场TRON能源效率和碳足迹报告》称，波场TRON网络的低能耗要求使其成为最环保的区块链之一。

通过跟踪20多个区块链网络的实时电力消耗和碳排放数据，CCRI报告指出，与比特币的工作量证明(PoW)等其它机制相比，波场TRON的委托权益证明(DPoS)共识机制有助于减少碳足迹。
报告显示，比特币和以太坊等PoW区块链的能耗分别超过8300万千瓦时和2200万千瓦时；波场TRON每年的能源消耗则为162,868千瓦时，交易量超过23.1亿次，比比特币和以太坊消耗的能源低约99.9%。对比来看，波场TRON的能耗与15个美国普通家庭相当，而比特币和以太坊的能耗则分别相当于850万个美国家庭和160万个美国家庭。

据悉，PoW区块链消耗大量能源的一个关键原因在于需求验证层面。为了验证PoW网络，用户需要一台能够解决复杂算法问题的计算机或硬件设备。例如比特币采用的SHA-256算法和以太坊的Keccak-256算法等，都需使用强大的计算机，而这些计算机的运行、维护和冷却需要消耗大量的能源。而DPoS机制能将维系网络运行的能源消耗降到最低，以一种低成本的方式来管理整个链上的运行。例如波场TRON的DPoS机制就是依赖于将其原生代币TRX质押到节点的用户，通过这些节点验证交易并维护网络。
对此，波场TRON创始人孙宇晨表示，从用户和经济市场角度出发，长远来看，高能耗的区块链平台是无法可持续发展的。最好的网络是那些能够促进去中心化，同时保持低碳足迹，以帮助引领世界走向一个更绿色的未来。
